How to arrive

Its collection, which includes around 4000 pieces, evokes part of the history of these Soldiers of Peace with pieces collected from many countries around the world – from helmets to the “Bomba Braçal” (hand-pumped extinguisher) from 1787 and 1854, and diverse pieces of fire-fighting equipment.

This museum, in Praça Forte, located in the former military hostel and former fire station, is the result of the efforts and dedication of Manuel Sobral, volunteer of this humanitarian association between 1944 and 1981.
