How to arrive

The Lapela Keep, known as the best balcony overlooking the River Minho and now transformed into a museum, maintains its imposing location and teaches visitors its history in relation to the territory.

Opened on 27 May 2016, this tourism facility in the municipality of Monção included restoring the keep, renovating the surrounding walkway and enhancing the hórreos (raised stone granaries). It offers a spectacular landscape overlooking the River Minho, the traditional houses of Lapela and the Galician countryside.
